Our Formal Living Room Update!

I'm so glad to get our formal living room update on the blog for you guys and I'm obsessed with how this space turned out. We got our prints made from Costco! They turned out amazing and they were ready the very next day for pickup and were only $10 a piece, such an amazing deal! I have our exact frames linked at the end of this post and they are on sale for $15 a piece so grab them quick before they go back to full price, frames this big for such a low price are very hard to find! I also linked these coffee tables. They come in a set of two which is so amazing for the price as well. We originally bought the white color, then decided to spray paint them gold and topped with a clear coat of spray paint to make them a little more durable. We love the look of these tables for a fraction of the price. Gold coffee tables run pretty high so having a little DIY project was worth it for us. I also linked our exact paint we used on all of our walls in the house since we were getting a lot of questions about that. I have the before paint color photo below. It's amazing how a few coats of white paint brightens up any house and makes it feel so much bigger and cleaner! I hope this gives you guys some inspiration on how to update any nooks and spaces you have in your home!

Here is our before photo. It's kind of hard to capture the entire space. We have a fairly large front entry room, but this shows off how dark the paint color was on all of the walls before we moved in. In this photo we had already painted the ceilings a bright white. All of the ceilings were the same color as the walls when we moved in.

We have really large bay windows that take up almost the entire wall to the left of this wall pictured and even on a bright sunny day this paint color just makes the space seem so dark and closed off.

Here is the after photo!

I just absolutely love how the space turned out! It's feel so much bigger, cleaner, and brighter! My biggest tip when moving into a new home is to at least paint all of the ceilings with bright white ceiling paint. In both of the houses we owned the ceilings seemed to be lighter, you normally don't look too closely at it but once you give the ceilings a couple coats of bright white ceiling paint it makes a world of difference! We did all of the ceilings right away and little by little painted all of the walls. Since we did all of the painting ourselves it took a little bit of time, but we saved a ton of money in the process! We did our living, kitchen, dining, and our 3 bedrooms within the first few weeks. We waited about 6 months before tackling this entry/formal living area since the ceilings were so tall and all we have left is the master bedroom and 1/2 bath!

We also just updated our little entry nook that turned out so adorable so stay tuned for those details!
